Flower Flourish Designer Paper I

Flower Flourish is a energetic stylized floral background stamp that I designed for Penny Black. I’ve been having fun making designer paper with it lately! You might want to try this method of doing multiple colors on backgrounds.

Simple, easy, pretty! The front of the card takes center stage with its lovely handmade touch and the inside has lots of room for a heartfelt sentiment or note.

To make this pretty designer paper I inked the entire Flower Flourish background stamp with VersaFine Spanish Moss. Then I used a Fantastix (or Brushstix) to wipe away the ink from the flower portion of the stamp. Working quickly so the ink won’t dry I colored the flowers with Memento Love Letter marker, (brush tip) then  immediately stamped onto ivory card stock.

The flowers stamped as a soft pink so I enhanced their shape and the center dots with the Memento Love Letter marker. Then I used Memento Bahama Blue marker (brush tip) over each dot on the leaves. Once I cut the stamped paper into a card size and folded it in half I added a wide blue band around the perimeter.

I made one more card using the same colors and method and added a few pretties for a different special occasion look…

The ribbon has sweet silver sparkles yet doesn’t take away from the paper because it’s transparent. The Spellbinders Labels Sixteen die template is simply outlined on the embossing edge with the point tip of the Love Letter Memento marker. “With Love” sentiment is from Penny Black  Gratitude clear set and is inked with the same Memento Bahama Blue marker. The colors and patterns on this card remind me of Hawaii!

I hope you try this method with Flower Flourish! Imagine the color combinations and looks you can achieve! Please share them with me, I’d love to see them!

I have another exciting and easy technique with wonderful colors to show you with Flower Flourish Designer Paper II… tomorrow!
